Primoz Roglic, the jumbo-visma rider, won the Vuelta a Espana in Madrid on Sunday evening. The last stage did not offer any surprises or other incidents and he could cross the finish line behind the stage winner, Pascal Ackermann (Bora-hansgrohe), in the main pack.

The 31 year old Slovenian finished 24 seconds ahead of his closest rival, Richard Carapaz (Ineos Grenadiers) and when crossing the finish line he was grinning broadly as he celebrated his twelfth victory for the season.

Primo´s 2020-wins began with the Slovenian National Road Race followed by stage wins and overall win in the Tour de LÁin, a stage win in the Criterium du Dauphine, a second place and a stage win in Tour de France, victory in Liege-Bastogne-Liege ending with four stage wins, the points jersey and the overall win in the Vuelta a Espana.
