The long negotiations between two of the biggest fighters is done! Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have agreed on a two-fight contract valued hundreds of millions of euros.
-Joshua is like a lion in a cage, says his promotor Eddie Hearn to ESPN.
The first step to get the two fighters in the same ring was taken last year. However, since then, not much has happened and Fury has been outspoken about his frustration not to get the deal done.
Two weeks ago, Tyson Fury commented om the situation by stating that he currently drinks 10 beers a day and with no training.
Now the contracts are signed and two fights, most likely both of them in 2021, first in June/July and second on in November/December.
Financially the two fighters will split 50/50 in the first fight and in the second fight the winner will take 60. In other words, there is no A-side in the first fight.
One source state that each fight will offer a total of 100 million USD in prize money.
It is clear, this fight will be the biggest fight in the history of boxing in UK and most likely the biggest fight in the world up to date.
