La Vuelta 22, the Spanish cycle event will visit Netherlands in 2022 with official stages in Utrecht, Breda and Den Bosch. The organiser confirmed the race will start in Utrecht just as the plans was for last year race before it was cancelled due to the corona virus outbreak.
“Utrecht will be the start of the team presentation as well as the initial time trial and finish line for the second stage that will start in Den Bosch” said a spokesperson for the organizer. The third an last stage in Netherlands will start and end in the city of Breda.
Race director, Javier Guillén said that the return to Netherlands have long been in the making due to the country being a “quintessential cycling nation”.
This is the second time the start of “La Vuelta” are located in the Netherlands, the first in Assen back in 2009, and the fourth in total outside of Spain.
The start of the race also coincides with the celebration of Utrecht 900 years!
